Crazy Umbrella Ideas!

These are some problems with currently umbrellas and some crazy ideas on how to improve them!

1: This is an umbrella that will become a personal shelter if the weather gets to crazy! It will also provide anchors to keep you from blowing away.

2: People I interviewed had some problems with hitting people with the umbrella. With rear view mirrors, you would be able to keep track of wandering pedestrians.

3:The button that releases the umbrella from the closed position has problems malfunctioning. I propose to be able to twist it to an open position and remove any moving parts in hopes of eliminating a faulty button.

4: Spring loaded umbrellas are dangerous, unless that is what you want!

5: This idea expands on the personal shelter from idea one. This way you will use the water to move water wheels which power a generator. This will allow for use of A/C, heating, and maybe even a coffee maker!

6: Materials that avoid saturation and improve water to fall off the umbrella would be a great way to easy shake off excess water when entering a home or office.

7: Another problem most people had with umbrellas was wind. Having a way for air to be redirected through vents would allow for better air flow.

8: Hands free are a must in this multitasking society.

9: Room for two! Large families in Utah for example would love to be able to gather together for a walk in the rain or a hike. Having one large umbrella with multiple handles would allow a family to stay close together.

10: Cheap materials cause umbrellas to malfunction or break, especially in the wind. Improve stronger plastics or alloys to avoid breaking. Also, try to improve joints when parts have to move.

11: Bulletproofing is a essential in the chaotic world of today. I am convinced that a stronger umbrella material could have better uses than protecting yourself from the mafia.

12: Last but not least, zombie protection. I am not convinced that the zombie apocalypse is just for movies. In the event of a zombie horde, attach sharp knives to the end and pump to twist rapidly. This should remove the zombie threat and keep you dry from blood.
